Private Capital Management commences operations as an internal investment group within the Collier Family Office in Naples, FL.

1987

In 1987, PCM registers with the SEC and begins accepting outside investors in its Diversified U.S. Value strategy.

1988

Gregg J. Powers joins PCM and Collier Family operations.

4.

1994

PCM launches it's Concentrated U.S. Value strategy with Gregg Powers as lead portfolio manager.

2001

Legg Mason acquires PCM in 2001. The Firm’s management and investment operations remain independent of its corporate parent.

2010 – PCM Value Fund

Private Capital Management launches the PCM Value Fund.

7.

2013

In 2013, PCM returns to employee ownership when Gregg Powers re-purchases the firm from Legg Mason and subsequently distributes ownership interest to PCM’s current partners, cementing a new generation of the firm’s leadership group.

2016

PCM launches Harmonic Investors LLC to offer qualified investors hedged equity portfolio strategy options.
